Wakeboard Trip Thailand Itinerary: 6 Ready-Made Plans

Wakeboard Trip Thailand Itinerary: 6 Ready-Made Plans

The easiest wakeboard trip in Thailand is a Bangkok weekend: ride Thai Wake Park Lumlukka and ESC Rangsit, and sleep at a hotel on or next to the lake. If you have a single day, pair Taco Lake with WakeGarden in Bang Na, or add a park to a Pattaya, Phuket, Hua Hin or Chiang Mai holiday using the plans below.

Times in these plans are suggestions, not schedules. Distances and drive times are approximate road estimates from our park data, and prices are as of October 2026. Opening hours change, so confirm with the park before you go.

1. Bangkok weekend: Lumlukka and ESC Rangsit

Both parks run a full-size 5-tower cable plus separate 2-tower training lines, both have floodlights until 22:00, and both have a place to sleep beside the water. That makes this the most complete wakeboard weekend in the country.

Day 1: Thai Wake Park Lumlukka

  • Morning: arrive for the 09:00 opening at Thai Wake Park Lumlukka, about 30 km (35 minutes) from Don Mueang. A 2-hour ticket is 850 THB and 4 hours is 1,150 THB. First-timers can book the 995 THB, 2.5-hour beginner lesson instead.
  • Midday: lunch at the on-site restaurant.
  • Afternoon: an optional break at the National Science Museum, about 10 km (15 minutes) away, or Dream World, about 14 km (20 minutes) away.
  • Evening: back on the water under lights. The 20:00-22:00 late-night session costs 695 THB.
  • Stay: RIDEnLazy, the hotel inside the park. Our research found rooms from roughly 720 to 1,995 THB; check current rates when you book.

Day 2: ESC Thai Wake Park Rangsit

  • Morning: drive to ESC Thai Wake Park. It opens at 09:00 at weekends (11:00 on weekdays) and uses the same price list as Lumlukka. It hosted the 2025 SEA Games wakeboard events and has 15+ features.
  • Lunch: Future Park Rangsit and Zpell are about 6 km (12 minutes) away if you want air-conditioning and a food court.
  • Afternoon: ride again, or switch to culture: Bang Pa-In Royal Palace is about 35 km (35 minutes) away.
  • Leave: Don Mueang is only about 14 km (25 minutes) away, which makes ESC a good last stop before a flight.
  • Alternative stay: ESC Park Hotel, right next to the lake.

Which park suits you better? See ESC vs Lumlukka vs Taco Lake.

2. Bangkok east side day: WakeGarden, Bang Phli and Taco Lake

This plan stays near Suvarnabhumi and mixes a coached session with a long, cheap evening ride.

  • 09:00 - WakeGarden Wake Park: book an hour online in the morning slot (800 THB from 09:00-13:00, compared with 1,200 THB at regular times). Coaching and gear are included.
  • 12:00 - Mega Bangna: about 1 km (5 minutes) from WakeGarden, for lunch and a break from the heat.
  • 14:00 - Bang Phli Old Market: a riverside wooden market about 8-9 km (15 minutes) from both parks. Good for snacks and photos.
  • 16:00 - Taco Lake: about 5 km (10 minutes) from WakeGarden. Entry is 400 THB until 18:00, plus 100 THB to keep riding until 22:00 (or 600 THB for day and night). Vest, helmet and a beginner board are included.
  • Evening: dinner at the lakeside restaurant. Suvarnabhumi is about 15 km (25 minutes) away.

Taco Lake's weekend opening time differs between its website and Facebook page, so confirm before you go. More parks are listed in our Bangkok wakeboarding guide.

3. Pattaya day trip: Thai Wake Park Pattaya plus sights

Thai Wake Park Pattaya is the only full-size cable on the Eastern Seaboard and about 20 minutes from central Pattaya. There is no night riding, so plan the water in daylight.

  • Morning: the park opens at 09:00 at weekends and 10:30 on weekdays. Main cable prices are 695 THB for 2 hours, 895 THB for 4 hours and 1,095 THB for the day. Beginners should take the 450 THB, 1.5-hour Low Speed Session on the 2-tower line.
  • Lunch: at the park restaurant.
  • Afternoon, option A: the Sanctuary of Truth, about 16 km (25 minutes) away, a huge carved-wood temple by the sea.
  • Afternoon, option B: Pattaya Floating Market, about 12 km (20 minutes) away.
  • Evening: Pattaya Beach and Walking Street, about 15 km (25 minutes) away.

The park closes at 18:00. U-Tapao Airport is about 45 km (45 minutes) away. For more detail, read our Pattaya wakeboarding guide.

4. Phuket rainy-season day: Phuket Wake Park, Old Town and Kathu Waterfall

From roughly May to October the west-coast beaches often have big waves and red flags, while the freshwater lake at Phuket Wake Park stays flat. That is why the park gets busiest in the rainy season.

  • 09:00 - ride early: prices are 750 THB for 1 hour, 950 THB for 2 hours, 1,400 THB for 4 hours and 1,600 THB for the day (medium confidence; confirm with the park). Hours are listed as 09:00-18:00, but also confirm these. Riding in the morning usually means fewer afternoon storms.
  • 12:00 - lunch: at the park restaurant.
  • 13:30 - Kathu Waterfall: about 4 km (10 minutes) away. After heavy rain the water flow is at its strongest.
  • 15:30 - Phuket Old Town: about 10 km (20 minutes) away, with Sino-Portuguese shophouses, cafés and a Sunday walking street.
  • Stay: the park's 28-room on-site hotel, or Patong Beach about 8 km (20 minutes) away.

Phuket Airport is about 30 km (40 minutes) away. See our Phuket wakeboarding guide for the island's other park.

5. Hua Hin-Pranburi weekend: Kite Cable bungalows and Khao Kalok

Kite Cable Thailand is the only cable in the Hua Hin-Pranburi area. It has two independent 2-tower lines on a flat, chest-deep lake, plus 28 bungalows and 8 rooms. It is closed on Wednesdays, and its listed hours are 10:00-18:00 (confirm with the park).

Day 1

  • Afternoon: check in at the bungalows and ride. Two 10-minute sets cost 400 THB and four sets cost 600 THB, with two instructors included. SUP is free.
  • Sunset: Pak Nam Pran Beach is about 2 km (5 minutes) away.

Day 2

  • Early morning: Khao Kalok viewpoint, about 6 km (10 minutes) away.
  • Late morning: a second ride session on the cable.
  • Afternoon: the mangrove boardwalk at Pranburi Forest Park, about 12 km (20 minutes) away.

Hua Hin Airport is about 42 km (45 minutes) away.

6. Chiang Mai half-day: Lakehouse CNX plus Rajapruek or Night Safari

Lakehouse CNX is a rider-run 2-tower cable about 20 minutes from Chiang Mai airport. It is closed on Mondays and open 10:00-19:00 on other days.

  • Afternoon session: book the private cable online. It costs 750 THB for 30 minutes (one beginner), 1,350 THB for 1 hour or 2,300 THB for 2 hours (up to 4 beginners). Coaching is included. On Sundays there is an all-day ride for 600 THB.
  • Before: Royal Park Rajapruek, about 6 km (12 minutes) away, is best in the cooler morning.
  • After: Chiang Mai Night Safari, about 8 km (15 minutes) away, opens its evening tram rides after dark.

Canyon Wake Park, about 600 m away, is listed but unconfirmed for 2026, so check before you plan around it.

Planning tips for every trip

FAQ

Can I do two wake parks in one day in Bangkok?

Yes. WakeGarden and Taco Lake are about 5 km (10 minutes) apart in Bang Na. Do a coached morning hour at WakeGarden and then ride Taco Lake into the evening.

Where can I stay right at a wake park?

Lumlukka has RIDEnLazy on site, ESC Park Hotel is next to ESC, Phuket Wake Park has 28 rooms, and Kite Cable has bungalows and rooms.

Is a wakeboard trip in Thailand OK for complete beginners?

Yes. Every plan above includes a beginner option, such as the 995 THB lesson at Lumlukka, the 450 THB Low Speed Session at Pattaya, coaching at WakeGarden and Lakehouse, or instructors at Kite Cable.

Which itinerary works during the rainy season?

The Phuket plan is built for it, because the lake stays flat when the sea is rough. The Bangkok parks also run all year, but afternoon storms can pause the cable.
